ORDINANCE NO. 2023-24
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING UPDATED WATER AND SEWER REGULATIONS FOR THE VILLAGE OF TUSCARAWAS, REPLACING ANY PRIOR WATER AND SEWER REGULATIONS PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Village of Tuscarawas recognizes the need to increase water and sewer fees to account for increased costs of supplies, services and labor and recognizes its responsibility to provide these services to its residents at a reasonable cost; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council agrees that the interest of the community will be best served by updating and adding to its Water and Sewer Regulations, specifically adding authorizing Section 24. Contractor Specifications for Water/Watestewater Work; and
WHEREAS, this measure is necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Tuscarawas, as follows;
SECTION 1.
This Ordinance amends prior legislation of the Village of Tuscarawas as to water and sewer fees and regulations, and adds Section 24. Contractor Specifications for Water/Wastewater Work.
SECTION 2.
The attached Water and Sewer Regulations for the Village of Tuscarawas, incorporated herein as if fully re-written, is hereby adopted to replace any and all prior Water and Sewer Regulations previously adopted by this Council.
SECTION 3.
It is found and determined that all actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of the Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements, including Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Village of Tuscarawas, Ohio, and shall go into full force and effect on the first day after its passage by Council as an emergency measure.
