ORDINANCE NO. 2024-01
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF TUSCARAWAS, OHIO, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES NATUREWORKS GRANT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Council for the Village of Tuscarawas, Ohio, desires to contract with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for financial assistance for public recreation purposes through the NatureWorks Grant Program for Development Improvements to the Tuscarawas Memorial Park, and;
WHEREAS, the Village of Tuscarawas has been awarded a Nature Works Grant not to exceed the amount of $16,194.00 and wishes to accept this award.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TUSCARAWAS, STATЕ OF OHIО;
SECTION 1.
The Mayor of the Village of Tuscarawas is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources through the Nature Works Local Assistance Grant, not to exceed $16,194.00, for the purpose of constructing a basketball court at Memorial Park.
SECTION 2.
The attached "NatureWorks Local Assistance Grant Agreement" is incorporated herein by reference and contains the terms and conditions of the Village's acceptance of the grant monies.
SECTION 3.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted and all actions and deliberations of the Village of Tuscarawas, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, relating thereto were conducted in open meetings to the public in compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and such emergency existing by reason of the necessity of providing a Municipal Code that is consistent with the latest State law, as required by the Ohio Constitution, and this Ordinance, including the Ohio Basic Code, and hereby shall take effect and be in force from the date of adoption of this Ordinance, otherwise from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
