ORDINANCE NO. 2023-26

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF TUSCARAWAS, OHIO, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH FIRST FEDERAL COMMUNITY BANK TO PARTICIPATE IN "POSITIVE PAY" SERVICE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY


WHEREAS, the Council for the Village of Tuscarawas, Ohio, desires to contract with the First Federal Community Bank to participate in their "Positive Pay" service to reduce the Village's exposure to check and ACH transaction fraud and enable better monitoring services.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TUSCARAWAS, STATE OF OHIО;

SECTION 1.

That the Mayor of the Village of Tuscarawas is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with First Federal Community Bank to participate in their "Positive Pay" service at a rate of $30.00 per month;

 

SECTION 2.

That the foregoing Ordinance was adopted and all actions and deliberations of the Village of Tuscarawas, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, relating thereto were conducted in open meetings to the public in compliance with all applicable legal requirements.

 

SECTION 3.

This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and such emergency existing by reason of the necessity of providing a Municipal Code that is consistent with the latest State law, as required by the Ohio Constitution, and this Ordinance, including the Ohio Basic Code, and hereby shall take effect and be in force from the date of adoption of this Ordinance, otherwise from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
